The outcomes for our Major Project were inspired by the discovery that Malaysia, our home country, is far behind most other countries in relation to environmental concerns and sustainability. With our combined research into issues relating to deforestation and the degradation of marine life, we developed a campaign called Kitar Semula – which translates ‘recycling’.

 

The basic approach within the campaign is to promote empathy through connecting disturbing facts and information on environmental issues with aspects of cultural heritage. The aim is to promote a shift in mind-set and, ultimately, create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly Malaysia.
